Following the horrific mass shooting in a Pittsburgh synagogue a week earlier, a broad spectrum of Milton residents turned out in gratifying numbers at Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills on a blustery November day to pledge solidarity and to be active proponents of peace. Pastor Shelly, current president of the Milton Interfaith Clergy Association, was joined by her clergy colleagues who presented several statements. Those gathered then formed a great crescent around the building in a powerful, visual embrace. Most then poured into the synagogue for a short service. My photo captures less than half of the warm, earnest, standing room-only crowd.
