Special Services at East Congregational Church
During the church year, special services are held that reflect the different church seasons. Christmas Eve offers a pageant service with candlelight and Communion. Holy Week Services, including a moving Maunday Thursday meal and service, tell the story of Jesus’ passion and resurrection on Easter morning. Youth Sunday and Children’s Sunday help us to hear the Word of God through our young people.
Other services address special circumstances more than a season. East Church seeks to speak to the needs of all in its community (not just church members), in all of their situations. A good example of this is our “Blue” Christmas service, a simple service held in the Church Chapel, designed for those who have difficulty embracing the excitement and heightened celebrant joy of the Christmas season due to the experience of loss over the past years.
