East Church partnered with organizers in the church's immediate neighborhood to pull off an amazingly fun Block Party. The seeds for this year's Block Party were planted last year at the Centennial Ceremony of Crane Field, a small park located a block from the church. Last year's celebration went over so well, everyone involved knew immediately it had to happen again, and it did! The event was scheduled from noon to 3 PM. The weather forecast was uncertain. As it turned out, the weather was perfect right up until it wasn't - rain began to fall almost on the stroke of 3:00! The East Church volunteers were unfazed by a little rain and all the chairs, tables, cooking utensils and leftovers got transported back promptly. It would be impossible to individually thank everyone who made this event a success, but special recognition has to be extended to Susan Harvey who was East Church's lead representative for the block party planning, and to the Full Turn Band who provided amazing music throughout the day. As you browse the images in this album, please note the distinctive fluorescent yellow/green t-shirts which identified East Church volunteers at the event. There was an impressive East Church participation. It was a great pleasure to interact with our neighbors.
