Worship at East Congregational Church

East Church sanctuary

Worship is the human response to the blessings of God, thus worship is at the heart of our life together as God’s people. Through preaching, prayer and music, we create a sacred and welcoming space where we can be open to receive the good news of the Gospel. In worship we are renewed and encouraged for the journey of faith.

Sunday Worship at East Congregational Church begins at 10:00 AM in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Beginning on the 3rd week of June through Labor Day, the Worship Service begins at 9:30 AM.

Though our worship might best be described as traditional, it is by no means staid. We incorporate drama and dance into worship when appropriate and offer a variety of musical styles in the service. Adults and youth often serve as lay readers. A special message is offered for our youngest members before they leave for Sunday School, and a new puppet ministry is in the early stages of development to enhance that message.

We extend our worship to our at home members by offering home communion as well as video and audio tapes which are made of each service during the regular church year. Tapes are available through the office. A tape of the service is also broadcast on Milton Cable Television. Check the Milton Community bulletin board for times.

If you are considering visiting East Church for the first time you might want to read our page outlining what to expect at a worship service. We invite you to “meet” Rev. Dianne Arakawa, East Congregational Church’s Interim Pastor.

Additional information on East Congregational Church’s Worship experience can be found on the page about the emphasis we place on liturgical music, and on the page which describes the sacraments we celebrate.

Our worship service may be viewed on Milton’s cable station (channel 8) at 11:00 on Sunday morning, and at 5:00 on Thursday evenings. (This isn’t a live feed - it’s the previous week’s service.)
