At East Church's June, 2011 Annual Meeting, approval was voted to renovate the church kitchen.

A fundraising campaign, organized by Susan Harvey, secured pledges for the majority of the costs prior to the formal approval process.

The original footprint of the kitchen will remain unchanged. Most of the cabinets will likewise remain. However, most of the aging and unsafe appliances will be replaced with updated (and functional!) equipment.

The intention of the renovation is mission- and program-driven. The improved facilities will allow East Church to develop into areas we have previously been unable to address.

Other East Church members who contributed expertise and professional services to the project include Bob Gallagher (estimating and construction foreman), Aris Bakolos (architect), Kris Hodlin and Suzanne Lombardi (appliance selection and other commercial cooking advice).
